Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Headcrab - Rex, LH, REC
Smudge - Rex, LH, Black
Hairy - Rex, LH, Golden
Creamo - LH, BEC
Kahlua - LH, Dove Tort
Larry- LH, Golden Umbrous Banded
Silver Sable, LH
If she's not black, she's chocolate, though I explained in the other thread why I thought black (due to the virtual non-existance of rust in our gene pool, but BC may totally be different) LH Tort
Looks like Cinnie LH Satin, with dom spot.

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
I was told Larry was supposed to be a yellow black...not sure if thats the case.
Creamo was also rex, from lines imported from Europe (actually all the rexes were from Tershonian hamsters who used to be in Ontario).

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Ah, okay, yellow blacks and golden umbrous look similar to me. I just need a better trained eye for it.
I was not 100% sure on rex for Creamo.
After you said they're from Tershonian Hamsters, I'm not surprised they're rex. They were really keen on bringing rex in. Unfortunately, after they shut down, we lost most of the recessive genes and rare colours and patterns. Bringing in dominant spot, yellow, and even black is sometimes really hard.
Did you used to live in Ontario? I contacted Tershonian Hams a month ago to find out some info from them, but it looks like they no longer use those emails. Phone line was dead too.

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
No. I had them shipped from Ontario to BC. I really loved having the rex. I haven't had any real luck finding any in the last few years though. Should have bred the ones I had to keep them going...

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Oh, lucky! I am breeding come the fall, but we're focusing on torts, dominant spot, and POTENTIALLY polywhite (we'll see).
Once we're established I'm hoping to ship some hamsters from Brookside, who do have rex lines. I'll give you a quick PM, since this is a bit off topic.
