Marmadukes new bin cage
I have spent the last three days making a new bin cage for Marmaduke. I have been doing little bits of it in between going to university and working. I am very pleased with his new cage and Marmaduke is now settling in.

Re: Marmadukes new bin cage
Bin (ikea) £13, shelf (b&q) £5, plastikote (b&q) £3.50, ladder (any pet shop) 99p, mesh (wickes) £4. I had nuts bolts and washers already so didn't have to buy them. Much cheaper than store bought cages.

Re: Marmadukes new bin cage
Marmaduke's bin cage is so far the best executed bin cage I've ever seen on here! I'm really surprised that final cost was so low. You should really start doing bin cages for others.
Only improvement I can suggest is not related with actual bin cage but if marmaduke is Syrian hamster might need bigger wheel if current wheel is 8" ? But it might be big wheel but just looks small as your bin cage is massive ?!

Thank you for your comments. I am really pleased with how it turned out! I think it is slightly bigger than 8 inch. Marmaduke is a syrian around 12 weeks old. I will upgrade it when he gets bigger as he is rather small at the moment.

Re: Marmadukes new bin cage
I am not a huge fan of bin cages only because I like the look of tanks better but yours is Super nice. What is the silver around the edges? It makes it look really well finished
Also what size mesh did you use? I would like to hang things in my syrians tank but she chews normal mesh but that looks small enough that I can hang things but she cant chew it
