Re: Pet shops :(
Perhaps animal rights groups should be contacted, and an world wide petition against the manufacturer of this dangerous cotton type nesting material would, if not stop the selling of this product, bring an awareness to the dangers of such materials. I'm just curious how " recalls" and better yet, world wide warnings to discontinue and do not purchase the cotton material...there must be a process that can capture the publics attention of the dangers of the cotton product.. I'm friends with over 300 animal rights, rescue and stop animal abuse groups/people- I will ask how these groups go about achieving positive changes in animal related issues.

Re: Pet shops :(
I think pet shops only care about selling, and i've seen that when parents buy their children hamsters they're completely oblivious to what they really need and they see the cotton wool type stuff and they think its cute, so they buy it.
So the pet shops won't stop selling it :/

Re: Pet shops :(
In my local P@H in Glasgow, there is an employee who specialises in reptiles and fish. However, he does know his fare share about small animals. When ever he see's someone buying cotton bedding or anything else unsafe, he warns them about it subtly until they put it back... It's absolutely fantastic! Especially considering he can lose his job for preventing sales.

He definitely is. My boyfriend is 100% straight, but even my boyfriend thinks he's attractive. Now that's saying something!
