" resin" harmful ?
Hiya,
Does anyone know if little houses and
Figurines made from Resin material
Is safe to put in a hammys habitat?
I've seen them while shopping around for
Ham items, cute houses, they say
For small animals, and made from Resin-

Re: " resin" harmful ?
I think that resin is just the fancy sales term for plastic. A lot of aquarium sculptures are made of the stuff. As long as it's safe for animals I think it's ok for hamsters.

Re: " resin" harmful ?
We use resin toys in some of our cages and have never had a problem

Oh, okay- thank you Brain girl-- yes,
The resin items feels like plastic-
How about ceramic decor items-?
That are used for decoration, not
In the pet section, in the garden section?
It doesn't look like hams would chew
On them, but never know..

I would be concerned that they're finished with something that could be chewed off. You'd be surprised how many are dipped in some sort of protectant. Solid, untreated concrete maybe, but that's going to be heavy

Re: " resin" harmful ?
We use unglazed terracotta for our hamsters safely and we get that at the local garden centre
