I love Retrievers! Leo is the spitting image of our old Golden boy Toby, even down to the pink nose.
We were only allowed to have him because when he was about five weeks old, his breeder said 'He's got a tiny pink spot on his nose, so I probably won't be able to show him'. She was right, that tiny spot grew until his whole nose was pink. We didn't care though!

Re: 31 days of March!
Well today I thought I'd share pictures of two of my childhood pets.
Following souffle's post about being on the one show with the German Shepherds, it reminded me of mine as a child and how much I adored her.
Meisha was a lovely little girl, with a bad start to life. She was kept locked away in a kitchen with little interaction, we also believe she was originally from a puppy farm. My mum's friend knew the people that took her away from that place and as she had owned a Shepherd before, her friend asked her to take her. One of the only thingd I can remember from being a chid is when my mum came to pick me up with her there, I was instantly in love! Meisha became my soul, she meant the world to me growing up. Unfortunately, her life was to be short lived as her kidneys began to fail at only a few years old, kt was obvious her previos life and breeding background had left it's scars on her. It got to the point where there was nothing left for the vets to do, we had no choice but to end her suffering. I remember falling asleep on her on the floor the night before she had to be put down, I didn't want to let her go. When I woke up in the morning she wasn't near me, I remember running downstairs to find her, but she wasn't in her bed...my mum and sister were crying, and I knew they had already taken her to be put down...I never got to say a proper goodbye to her, and I still shed a tesr for her now. She was the start to my love for animals, my bond with her could never be replaced but I still treasure so many memories and I know she helped me, my mum and my sister a lot through tougher times.
Charlie was a farm cat, after my sister was born my mum came across a farm selling kittens (we lived in a village), and he was so small he fit into my mum's hand. He was an amazing cat and he and Meisha were best pals and used to share the dog bed together! He was of course, a real hunter and he often brought us a few presents! He was so cuddly too, but when we had to move away we left him in the care of someone who we thought would care for him, but we were wrong. Charlie was 19 years old and hsving some problems eating, but the person ended up leaving him to fend for himself, it's something unforgivable. I have many memories with him even though he was often out checking the fields behind us or winding up the neighbour's terriers.
More photos will come, I have a picture of them cuddled together which I would love to find :3

Re: 31 days of March!
As we had a Sunday dinner yesterday, it was only fair for the hammies (and Leo of course!) to have a little bit themselves. I gave the hammies each a bit of carrot and some chicken, I know the carrot was big, but none of them ate anywhere near all of it!
Angel is the worst with taking large pieces of food as she tries her best to get all of it in and as you can see from the picture, is happy with a bit left to stick out.
Hatton tends to carry things around like a dog until he decides the best place to store it
My lovely little rescue is very gentle and I purposely held onto it as he ate to see how he reacted to me as I was told he was a biter...but he is ever so gentle! Very happy to have a bit of a nibble as I was holding onto it, I am impressed!
(Sorry for the phone quality pics!)
Enjoy! :3
