It is a Addiction!!
Ever since I got my first hamster about five, almost six years ago now, I can't seem to not have one in my life. My first hamster was a long haired Syrian named Norbert. He only lived in my care for a year and a half but the pet store he was at had him for a long time. I had a Campbell's named Hermione that escaped from her cage and died shortly after I got her (was very heart breaking).
Then I got Hufflepuff my first robo. He was a hand full and I was not prepared for a robo at all. His death hit me hard and I still don't like to talk about it. Just before Norbert died and right after Huffle died I got a beautiful baby Winter White named Alice. She was my pride and joy and she was my only hamster for a year and a half. She died when she was two years old. I was holding her while she passed.
After her I got my now second long haired Syrian, Neville. He is beautiful but he doesn't like to be picked up so I just let him do is thing and give him treats all the time. I had him for eight months before I got my two three legged robo girls Rowena and Nymphadora.
And now I seem to want to try my hands at a Campbell's again?! I have the room and the money but I realized today while I was searching for breeders that this really is a addiction that I will have all my life. I can't see at any point in time that I won't want a hamster. The are amazing creatures. Watching them interact with their surroundings is way better then any show you can watch on tv. Having them around is a joy. I can't wait to meet the next little face that is going to be joining my family.

Re: It is a Addiction!!
Oh, And I forgot about Fang. He was a blue and white Campbell hamster. I got him when Alice was six months old and he died six months later. Sometimes I wish hamsters lived longer... Alice was my longest living but she was also the one I was positive about her age when I got her.
