My favourite time of the week
I never thought I would say this but cleaning out the hamster cages is my favourite time of the week! I love organising their cages so they are different then before and will give the hammy lots of new things to try out! I do it at 8pm every thursday, I've had to set myself a time or else I would do it everyday! Is it just me or is anyone else like this?

Just you
I must admit really like rearranging the toys and thinking up new layouts for the cage but the actual cleaning side of it doesn't do much for me!
I'm going to rebuild my syrians puzzle playground this week which will be a mission and a half!

Re: My favourite time of the week
I agree, I've lost track of my times over the past few weeks as uni finished and yesterday I did most of them, played with each of them for a long time and it was grreat! it took allday as I was playing with them for sooo long but I learnt more about my hamsters and what they liked and didn't.
it's great.

Re: My favourite time of the week
It's always a Wednesday (day before bin day!) - I don't often reaarange the whole lot - some things just belong in the same place - Clover's cage is established on the left side but the right side varies. I worry about changing Pumpkin's round though, as she's an old girl now, and I don't want to stress her out too much, and try and leave most things in a familiar place.
Changing takes between 1-1.5 hours for the both of them, including hoovering up afterwards, depending on interruptions. Not my favourite thing to do, but I do like to watch them busy themselves making their nests afterwards, and it's all worth it to have my happy girlies!

I've only got 5 hamster cages but I've got the rabbits which are a pain with 3 litter boxes in different rooms and in their cage. It takes about 3 hours twice a week disinfecting it all and it's not uncommon for them to jump straight into their litter boxes before I've even put sawdust in them and wee which means I have to start all over again. They're a pain in the bum!

bunsey i have about8 cages and still love it and have the rabbit cage, and the human man cage like katizilla said I think it's still important and very essential to looking after a pet, you get to learn there habits more. though I understand it might be different with syrians

Cleaning cages isn't so fun for me at the minute as I've done my little finger on the right in! No, it wasn't a fish bite
I found out why women shouldn't play football with men, especially if they have to go in net. I caught the ball at least!
