best wheel for a male Syrian?
Ralph, my new male Syrian loves his wheel, atm he is in a mini duna for a week or two just untill he gets used to being with us, he is very jumpy and extremely cautious so i'm giving him time before moving him into the alaska.
He currently has an 8" wheel and he really does give it a thorough bashing every night.
So my question is.... Whats the best wheel for a male syrian, taking into consideration the "male bits" and the fact that he just loves to run ( so noise too)
Thanks in advance

Re: best wheel for a male Syrian?
Well, my male doesn't have a wheel due to age but my female (who was huge!) loved her Wodent Wheel! There aren't any opening to get "bits" caught in either I can't remember what the sizes are called but her's was the second largest available. The size up from that is considerably wider. I have both but haven't tried the wider one. At least the track has more room for bits

Re: best wheel for a male Syrian?
My very LH male has the senior Wodent wheel, although expensive worth every penny its extremely well made. Another choice is the karlie wonderland or silent spinner i have both of these also quiet i like these too (my robos have them) just my favourite is the Wodent. If you do decide on that put a bit of vasline on spindle before use. Not had to re apply the vaseline yet and had it since april.

I like the flying saucers I know a lot of people disagree for a Syrian but mine love theirs and I prefer them to the round upright wheels.

Re: best wheel for a male Syrian?
I think it might be a silent spinner or the wodent wheel.
I like the karlie but i would have to treat it before he used it ( twitch has on and trust me it pongs)
In the past we've tried the savic which is a nice looking wheel but somehow scared Moo ( she refused to go in it again).
Spinner or wodent.....

Re: best wheel for a male Syrian?
I have the Karlie Wonder wheel and it's fine. Fairly quiet, although I understand Alfred likes to unload his pouches into it, so bits go flying around quite noisily.
Yes you do have to treat it but that is really simple -even I can do it. We got a small bottle of clear paint-on Plasticoat from Amazon and painted it twice, allowing it to dry. I have sometimes wiped it out with a wet cloth, and no problem.
I have mine in a ZZ2, I just make the substrate less thick underneath it, so it fits. But be warned, no substrate means a lot of rattling!

Re: best wheel for a male Syrian?
my George loved his WW, he loved running in it, but he also loved going up to his bridge and dropping into the holes from the top .
Anything that is big enough for him when fully grown will be fine
