A few new snaps of teeny Todd and Mr Tumbleton (aka Finley).
I picked up the new bins for the hamhams yesterday.
Unfortunately I was a little disappointed, as the web page did not specify that the dimensions given were the external measurments, or the dimensions of the lid. As the box narrows down it's height, the base is actually shorter in both length and width by 10cm. So instead of a great 80 X 40cm floor space, I actually have 70 X 30cm. This actually makes quite a big difference, because the boxes appear to be very narrow. :/
This size is still ideal for Todd, who is tiny and not overly active, but for Mr Tumbleton I really could have done with those extra cms. However, they still have quite a bit of height, so I will be added platforms and levels, plus an awesome grass hammock which he will love.
You may notice that Fin's box is quite bare, but I'm still buying in his gear. Plus I need to mod the box so I can add those levels.
I've kitted the boxes out to get an idea of what I'm working with, and so they can explore their new tubs.
Here's Toddy's new pad! He's getting a suspended platform too, and some hanging items that I need to fit. He LOVES his shoebox. I stuck a tunnel in it and filled it with bedding, because he loves having a 'burrow' of sorts, and it also acts as a platform. At some point I will be changing the box to a wooden one, but for now he's happy with cardboard.
He was very active last night, which is unusual for Todd. He was zipping on his wheel and digging like a nutter. He also loves scrambling about on his pebble pile and running into his bamboo tunnel.
And here are the two boxes side by side. Mr T, who has very big and sensitive ears, wasn't sure at first about living next door to a noisy dwarf scratching around. It didn't take him long though to get used to it.
There he is sat on his rock, which he loves. You can see from this just how big he is!
Some snaps of Toddy.
Looking fat and round on his wheel.
He's so fast that I couldn't focus!
It wasn't long before he decided it was dinner time.
And here comes Mr Tumbleton! He's less of a recluse than Todd, so I can get more than a couple pics of him.
He loves his sand tray. That is a medium weaning dish that he's filling up - he is a big boy!
Hiding away. I love his little white beardy chin!
Wearing the wheel down! (this 20cm one is only temporary, he's got a 12" on order)
He then decided he was hot. Time to flop down under the bridge.
He has a funny habit of sticking his little tail right up in the air. :L
