Hello all,
Some of you may think that as I went from 4/5 hammies to 6 ratties and 1 hammy...I had got "bored" of our fluffy hammy friends...not at all! Just ratties = 1 cage to clean and living alone with a job...better time management
Today I had a hospital visit, it's been 5 years since I was diagnosed with a bowel disease so I was dreading it and have been doing lots of contemplating and thinking back.
The hospital is next to a pet store and even though I had no plans for a newbie, took a carrier because you never know when you may get picked
.
After a horrible appointment I ran into the familiar store to find it had been refitted, very impressed.
Nobody jumped out at me but I asked the lady to open the cage up and she left me be with them. The big fur pile started moving and a black caught my eye. My old man Bear is still around in his old 3 yrs so I thought nope, you little cutie are not destined for me.
There was a long haired cream banded, I love long haired and many golden banded.
Having had two golden banded before I wasn't overly keen and wanted to get a colour I hadn't had before but all the others started hissing at me..very young little ones..minus one..who tottered up to me, sniffed my fingers, stared me out and went back to the pile.
In that gaze I knew he was coming home with me
He has had a long train journey and looked liek he would be very timid. However, I've kept him in the front room and talked to him and he has been monkey barring, whizzing round, digging...it is SO SO SO wonderful to have a young hammy about!! It's been about 2 years since I had a baby and i'm all panicky ill have forgotten how to tame!
He has no name yet..other than Mr.Grow into your ears! Golden banded I do believe, don't think he is umbrous
Also, if anyone has a long savic cambridge ladder going spare I'd be grateful for it. He's far too tiny for the old rat cage I have and I can only find the short cambridge ladders around atm, I've sold loads of my hammy stuff!
