Since I'm not at work today (they think I've got a leaking ceiling - I couldn't say that my hamster's escaped and I'm upset), I'm going to Surrey Pet Supplies to buy some presents for my little darling to welcome her home!
You're very welcome - I know how upset I was when Yogi went missing! I'm so glad you found her. A trip to Surrey Pet Supplies sounds like a great idea .

I'm glad you found her, I've had a few of mine escape in the night before and they kept on running under my bed which was frightening till I relised what it was, lol.

do you know how your cage fell over?

Very glad to her that she's reappeared, as it's always worrying when they disappear - though what odd circumstances! Did you discover how the cage had managed to end up like that?

It sounds like there are some useful learning points from the experience - for myself, having had loose hamsters, it was not to panic. Stay calm and think!

It's good that you started to consider where they might get to - that should help in future hamster-proofing. You can't account for when they might get loose, but you can account for where they might get to!

She sounds like an absolute darling. Wesley spent most of last night trying to drag my house phone into a nest under the couch, in her bid for freedom... no such luck as to walk onto my palm!

I'm competely baffled as to how the cage ended up on the floor. It was fine when I went to bed, and I was awake until 1am-ish so I would have heard it fall if it happened before then. I still can't believe it didn't wake me up falling anyway as squabbling hams in my living room always wake me up (I was up at 5am yesterday telling my Campbell girls off!) so surely a falling cage would?

The only explanation I've been able to come up with is that I've started sleepwalking??? But I've never done it before. Its all very weird.

Poppy's cage is now on the floor....and she's safely tucked up in bed. I think she's exhausted from her fun trip out. I'm just lucky that she's a little darling who wants to spend all her time with me. She'd rather be cuddled than eat, sleep, pretty much anything really...she just wants to be with me. It would've been a lot harder to catch her if she wasn't like that.

Gus - I think Wes is obviously trying to dial out...the question is, who's she trying to call?? Little Snipes maybe?
