Question Tents for Hamsters

I found these tents on eBay: COSI SMALL ANIMAL IGLOO/TUNNEL FOR HAMSTERS,GERBILS,GUINEA PIGS,CHINCHILLAS,RAT | eBay
From your experience, do your hamsters chew on plastic and things, and do they look safe? They just look so cute!

Another thing too - for a large Syrian, how big would an entrance have to be?

They are very cute but I would only use there for supervised playtime due to the fleece lining and the threads in the sewing. It would be too much of a risk to have them in the cage in case they swallowed the fluffy stuff or unwound a thread round the toes or similar. I think the syrian would need the larger size though.

I used to have a red one of these when my gerbils were out running around. I agree with souffle though that they should only be a play area toy and not a cage accessory due to the materials used.

Thanks for the advice! I had a feeling that might be the answer. But I can find another hidey
