They are very cute but I would only use there for supervised playtime due to the fleece lining and the threads in the sewing. It would be too much of a risk to have them in the cage in case they swallowed the fluffy stuff or unwound a thread round the toes or similar. I think the syrian would need the larger size though.

I used to have a red one of these when my gerbils were out running around. I agree with souffle though that they should only be a play area toy and not a cage accessory due to the materials used.
