Default Black WWs

A couple of shows back I was having a moan to someone about the "new" black "winter whites" being bred on the continent, and how they were considered pure as the hybrid step was so far back

Well, here is a pic someone has posted on another forum - http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll48 ... k_ham2.jpg

I can't remember who I was ranting at, or if they were even interested, but in the off chance it was one of you, and you were curious, I just thought i'd post it

I just saw that on another forum too, how annoying. Why do people there insist they are pure when they obviously aren't?!

I know you say Paddy splats Bunsey, but I didnt think that was because you hit him with a raquet!

I was going to move this post into the ww section, as I thought it might be useful to have it there for the future, but then I had second thoughts...
hang on - there's no way that's a winter white so here it stays I think.

Thanks though - very interesting, can I ask, do any of you good folk no much about hybrids? Im just wondering - I know my boy is a hybrid (he has problems bless) but what colour do you think he is? Is he one of those mandarin/mushroom type colours? Just for interest?

Yes I did wonder where to put it, I started out in breeding, then thought no because I'm not breeding it, so one of the breed specific...then which one!

Your rescue isn't a mandarin - they're orange he seems too "blue" to be a mushroom compared to the ones I've seen in real life, but looks quite similar to the picture on PKK's site - http://purplekatkritters.tripod.com/dwa ... l#mushroom

Looks like a sapphire brown/mushroom "hybrid" and more WW-ish than that black pictured hamster
I don't breed hybrids though so couldn't say for definite www.hamsterforum.co.uk was the place to ask a while back.
