Re: dwarf hamsters...
Depends on what you want out of a ham! If you want a speedy little one with not many snuggles, go for a robo. If you want more of a snuggler, I'd go for a campbell's or winter white, but even then, they aren't guaranteed to want to snuggle. My girls are hybrids, and they sometimes like to sit on my shoulder or snuggle inbetween my leg and the side of the couch, but that's about it. They usually are running around when I take them out. I wouldn't recommend pet store hams, unless you are adopting because usually they are hybrids who will have health problems like Gemma and Cyleigh both had. Although my hybrids are super adorable!

Re: dwarf hamsters...
Really depends on what you would want.
Reseach is a must, and if you could try and go to a show and have a proper look and maybe hold the dwarfs on the sales table, Its a lot different to read about different species act that to see it in person.
dwarf wise my fave are campbells they are really cuddly. I had hybrids and they were so different. I would agree breeder would be the way to go
