Awwww...Alvin knows his name!
Bless his little heart, Alvin now knows his name!
I heard him shuffling around in his Wodent Wheel (currently also used as his Bed ) and so went up and called him. He shot out and ran up to the door to see me! Pumpkin Seed bribery seems to have worked wonders!!!
He is 9 weeks today! I'll post some new photos when he comes out for a play later.
Sue, would you like me to bring him to Monmouth for you?

See - hamsters are clever little things!!
It is up to you whether you bring him - he could always go in the pet class if you don't feel ready to enter the main show yet.

He is clever, I think its his breeding you know...
Ok..twist my arm, I will bring him and enter him into the pet class. Eeek...i'm nervous now! First show and bringing Alvin, i'll have to have a prep talk with him tonight about it.
Now Sue, the little SH BEC that you mentioned yesterday....what is she like temperment wise, and do you think she would make a good 'girlfriend' for Alvin if I decide to go down that route later on?? Was she one of the little ones in the first set of 'Three Cream Litters' photos?

Yes, she is one of the third cream litter - Angostura & Caffrey.
Caffrey is the big SH Sable Roan boy you saw when you chose Alvin.
She is only 4½ weeks old at the moment but already quite calm and easy to handle.
She is not completely unrelated to Alvin. They share a great grandfather and two other great grandparents are brother and sister. I would still consider them a suitable match though.
The Great Grandfather they share is Mackeson who became quite a legend in his day for show winning.

As breeder extrodinaire...I trust your judgement Sue...if you think they would be an ok match, then thats enough for me.
I remember seeing Caffrey, it was seeing him that swayed James towards choosing Alvin in the first place!
If you would be able to bring her on Saturday for me please, that would be lovely. I really can't see any reason why she won't be coming home with us though . Unless of course, you find some other girlies to tempt me?!?!?!?!?
I even have a name ready!!!
