You buy cucumber just so they can have a slice even tho you dont eat cucumber

We just call the bedroom the hamster room...
Also do have substrate over the floor most of the time.

The hamsters have about 95% of the space in your bedroom that isn't actually your bed...
You wonder if you'll have to pay more for contents insurance now you've gained £1000+ worth of ham stuff in the past year...
There's also the fact that we have dwarf hamsters in Alexanders or ZZ2 cages and syrians in rabbit hutches...
At work the first thing one of the guys I care for says to me is "Sam... Hows the hamsters?"...

When your family buys you hamster goodies for Christmas
When you wake up extra early or go to be extra late to catch a few precious moments with the furry girls
When you have a conversation with your hamsters
When you pretend like you are speaking for your hamsters ex "Hello Auntie. I love you!"

No matter what they do you instantly forgive them.

You rifle through your OH's breakfast muesli or cereal to see if there's anything they can eat.

You spend hours on the PC looking for things they might like.

You go to them the minute you get up in the morning and just before you go to bed.

Its just unconditional love.

You have to pick the hamster poops out of the bath before you can get in - and you are totally unsqueamish about picking them up with your bare hands

You have bits of substrate all over the floor all over the flat

You boil your last egg for him even though he will only eat a little tiny bit of it

You go through the packs of Harry Hamster picking out all the bits he won't eat

You have "hamster boxes" in all the corners of the living room, where he will go when he thinks you want to catch him ... he hasn't quite cottoned on to the fact that, that is where you can find him!

You have the best pics of him as screensaver on your PC and phone

All your friends know to ask "and how is Holly?"

For me it's when:

- Their supplies (food/aubiose etc) has taken over 3 cupboards in the kitchen, most of your wardrobe and an entire bookcase
-Spend all your money on them when you can't really afford to.
-You take them to visit the 'Grandparents' (I took Noah over to see Mum and Dad last tonight as they have never met him. Full grown adults cooing over a tiny hamster... So cute)
-Have a facebook page that has been taken over my photos of them.
-Spend ages faffing making their cages nice rather then tidying your flat when it is a complete mess!
-Don't mind getting pooped on when out for cuddles (*glares at Noah*)
-Feel a sense of pride when they win a photo contest (well done Mylo ) like you would with a child.
-Constantly talk about them to your non ham mad family!

I spend my last £100 (spare cash) on two hamster heavens
On my day off work I plan to go round the pet shops in boro
I spent last night painting wooden shelving for their cages
I buy animal safe paint meaning I can paint anything of theirs a colour I like
I find making bin cages fun
I spend the whole night in the animal room some times
the list goes on
