The best hamster food (for cheap?)
I have 11 hamsters right now. And they eat...A LOT. I put food in the boys cage and its gone in an instant. Anyone know any cheap (under 5 dollars preferably) hamster food thats good? Just because they eat so much so fast right now im going to go through 100 dollars of hamster food in a month or two! XD

Sunseed hamster/rodent blocks are pretty great health wise for the price. I'm pretty sure they're under 4 dollars a bag

Re: The best hamster food (for cheap?)
I know they are recommended in the US as food but they are not here
I have 10 hams and probably spend less than $5 feeding them our equivalent of Hazel Hamster and I use 1 bag a month. They only need about an egg cup per day of food if they are just putting it all in there nests and not touching it they dont need that much and if they are eating it all blimey they will be the size of horses! haha

Re: The best hamster food (for cheap?)
Hamster Food » Supreme Pet Foods Hazel Hamster Food | PetSmart
thats about 2x the price of what I pay for that amount in the UK
you get 2lb (900g) for $10 (£6) I get 1.5 lbs (700g) for $3.50 (£2) but I only get through one bag a month with my gang of 10 so I have no idea how you get through 10 bags! I give dog biscuits and fresh food as well though

Re: The best hamster food (for cheap?)
Exactly how much are you giving them a day? If you give them loads they just end up pouching it all and it gets wasted!

Re: The best hamster food (for cheap?)
Well, I was joking about 100 dollars but in each cage I give them a handful of it every day. I didnt know they could just pouch it!
Ill probably get hazel! Thanks!
