Default Mark the date - have finally been bitten!

Well, there goes my record, I've finally been bitten!

And who should it be, other than apple-of-my-eye, Tupac!!!

Biggie's new cage is here, and I was sorting them both out - and previously they'd shown willing to sit in the same playpen, whilst being cleaned.

Not any more!

Tupac decided to try mounting Biggie - always a recipe for disaster! Thus I had a tumbling ball of fighting fur!

Into which I stuck my hand... I brushed Biggie off, but Tupac got a finger; and came with it when I shook my hand, giving him a little flight!

Now, am I allowed to bite back?! What's the etiquette on this?

Well, it had to happen at some time didn't it Gus!

I bet it didn't hurt as much as you expected though, eh? No, no biting back lol

You are allowed to retaliate by bathing the sore finger Gus, and by learning a valuable lesson, which will come in handy when you think about breeding Wes.

whenever you put two hamsters together, be prepared to separate them using a piece of card, or something similar, or wear a thick glove on one hand in case of fighting

Tupac didn't bite you to be fair, you just got caught in the crossfire, and like two drunken men brawling outside a pub, thats a dangerous thing to do!

Now give Tupac a love, and tell him you are sorry

They are brothers no more, it would seem!

To make it a day of firsts, Bob has just scented me - I have never smelt anything so foul. Am at a loss as to how to pay her back!

Not even a little nibble? Maybe one ear?

It's not too bad, actually - bit of a pinch. Was so busy laughing at the time

no water please

i always grab the male when breeding, less likely to get bitten, but as for being bitten..well if you put ur hand between fighting hamsters you will get hurt, put some cream on it and eat something nice, then give ur boys a treat because they didnt have fun either....

dave insists still in saying no in a loud voice when he is bitten...and as it is mostly robos who bite him ( dont ask i cant figure how or why either) its very entertaining as they pay no attention.
