Default Open House!

I was absolutely shattered last night and at around 11pm I took a little bit of broccoli for Luna, and a bigger piece of broccoli for Bob (the rabbit) into the lounge. I gave Bob a piece, then went to give Luna a piece, but realised I'd fed her small piece to Bob, so I broke another small bit off, gave it to her, and gave the remainder to Bob, locked Bob in his house and went to bed.

This morning I do the usual feeding of the 40,000, then let Bob out and feed him, go and make myself some tea. My 3 year old daughter arrives downstairs half an hour later, goes in to see Bob, then comes running out saying "Lunas cage open"! I go in and tell her off for opening it, which she denies, then I see the lock on the window sill.... where I always leave it at feeding time!!! OMG, I must have left her door wide open all night!!!! Stupid woman!

I quickly evacuate the room in a panic and prepare to dismantle the lounge, piece by piece. I throw a few cushions out the door but then go and look into Lunas cage and..... she was fast asleep in her bed.

Sooooo, did she go for a night-time wander and return, or did she not bother venturing out..... all those months hanging off the top and bar chewing, and desperate to get out, then she gets her big chance, and doesnt? She hadnt slept all night, as the broccoli had gone and there was Harry mix flung everywhere.... maybe she knows its not so bad here after all?? I guess I'll never know.

Maybe she did have a little wander, but then, like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, she decided "There's no place like home"

glad she is safe anyway, but I bet it gave you such a scare!

That happened to me with Fuzzy too. I don't think she did leave her cage, although she would have been straight out of the door if I was there.
Good job Luna likes being at home!

Thanks. Fortunatley I always shut the lounge door, so hopefully she'd have been in there, somewhere..... I certainly got a shock though and wont be doing it again in a hurry.... and i'm pleased my cats all sleep in the locked laundry room!

I'm so glad she's ok - I've done it too so don't feel too stupid, in fact I've left the top door on Rolo's Cambridge open THREE times

I've done this too, luckily I've realised it and come back in just in time, funny how sometimes you just can't see it!
