What time do your hammies get up?
Just wondering, what time do your hamsters get up? How old are they etc?
Charlie is now about..hm..14 months old and he gets up no earlier than about 11:30pm now. Usually later.. It's normal that he's starting to get up later, right?
I get him up about 9ish and he doesn't mind so that's good because he still gets to come out. I've woken him up all his life and he's never cared...if he didn't like it then I'd end up getting up/staying up at crazy times to wait for him
So, what time do your hamsters get up? Have you found they get up later as they got older?

Hi Jane - so Charlie is getting to be a 'stop in bed' is he? I find my males all sleep in later anyway, especially this time of year. My older hamsters do wake up later and are not as keen to come out as they used to be.
Charlie obviously doesn't mind being woken up and he is middle-aged now in human terms so it is probably quite normal for him to be a bit lazier than he used to be.
When are we going to get some more photos?

Thanks. He's never got up THAT early anyway, just wanted some reassurance it was normal he was getting up later and not a sign that something is wrong.
I'll try and get some more piccies of him in the next few days..need to charge camera batteries, hm..

Mine wake up whenever I go up to the bedroom to say hello, hoping for an extra bowl of food, though around midday nothing can wake them. They all have a big burst of action at about 8pm.
The dwarfs tend up wake up at around 7am and have a good run around for a couple of hours and are usually asleep for a couple of hours before that.

Fuzee Fi wakes up at around 4-4.30pm for a barrel around her cage and then goes back to bed and gets back up at about 8.00pm. LilBear is awake from around 6pm onwards and goes to her bed in the morning at around 8am - she's a stop out!

Most of my Syrians are early risers - Rolo, Smartie, Minnie, Milly and Molly all seem to get up around 4pm, and they get a run round the room so they seem to want to get up for that.
The others are all around 7pm - sometimes I have to wake the oldies up to see if they want a run or not at about 8pm - usually they do, occasionally they don't.
Sparrow and Turner wake in the afternoon and then go back to bed until about 8-ish and bean gets up just when he feels like - at different times each day.
I think mine wake so early cos there's always something going on the hamster room. I am careful not to keep waking them during the day though.

Mine wake up at random times each day, Chip ,being the curious girl she is, wakes up if i walk in the room. Its awful when im trying to do coursework or revision because she just stands there asking for attention, then the work goes out the window for an hour or so.

Herbert and Tinkerbell are a bit random, really. Herbert will wake up and come and see us pretty much whenever we are in the pet room but is really more 'properly awake' from tea-time (6pm-ish) onwards.
Tinker' is older - a little over 18 months - some days she hardly seems to wake up at all, other days she is awake half way through the day. I get her up when she's awake really, if I'm in and she's up and about earlier in the day I'll get her out for a free range session but she doesn't need long before she's ready for bed again!
She seems to have 'spurts' of action where she'll go round the cage digging and rearranging things and then there are days when we hardly see her. She is far less active even than when she first came here though..... and is looking more and more like a real old lady.
