Re: 31 Days Of May
I feel mean laughing at the thought of poor Trevor
On a slightly related note, I think I read somewhere that your ham gets disqualified from NHC shows if they have holes in their ears, only I can't remember where this would've been. Is this true? If so how strict are they on it? Just curious because Darla's starting to look really handsome, only he has two little ear holes, and I'd love to take him to a show but he's not tame enough for pet class and I'm not sure he ever will be

Re: 31 Days Of May
I think it depends how obvious it is Kissa If its just a little thing he may lose marks if they get noticed but wont be disqualified. Missing limbs, deformities and big chunks missing would get him disqualified. That only applies to the main show though, he would still have to be fairly tame for the main show as well because he can lose marks for that just not as many as he would in Pet Class.

Would you mind if I had this as a background screen picture???
Oh she's beautiful... I don't know which one she is but damn. Adore.
Also, what camera do you use please? Because it's amazing and I would very much like one!!!
Lydia and a jealous Artie, who is as gorgeous to her but unfortunately her camera is lacking and cannot capture him in the way she would like.

Re: 31 Days Of May
Haha sure you can use it Lydia That's Truffle in the photo, she's the old one (20 months old) but she looks just as sweet as the two babies
The camera is a Lumix FZ38 Bridge Camera (not a DSLR) but to be honest its rubbish, I only have it because I sold my SLR and downgraded to this so that I could buy the Hamster Heaven. I miss my old SLR but have been saving for months and months to get my new professional DSLR Nikon D7000, the body alone costs £1200 and a basic 18-55mm lens is nearly £80. The only way I make this camera work for me at the moment is by using my photography lamps and reflector boards so that I can up the shutter speed (which is slow on this cam). You be better off going for a DSLR rather than a Bridge camera as the basic ones are the same price but DSLRs out perform bridges by far!
This camera cost me £250 but you can get several Canon DSLR models from £200-£300 and they are much better. Plus you can change the lenses on them which you can't do with this one :/
But still, it's only around 3 weeks until I get my D7000

Re: 31 Days Of May
*Sighs happily* It's her feet that make that photo for me... Truffle you are scrummy. Erin you must give her a cuddle from me and another mealworm.
If these are your photos with a camera you don't like and think is rubbish I nearly dread to think what they will be like when you get your dream camera!!!
I too will have to save up for a camera then. I'm so lacking a camera that it's tempting to get even a bog-standard one but I do think I would be better off saving a little so that I can get better quality pictures of everything.
Then all I will need is tonnes and tonnes of harddrive space. O_o.

It looks like he's had his ear pierced a couple of times
I'm actually making good progress on the taming thing at the moment, because the best time to tame a hamster is apparently when you have important exams coming up... But while I have hopes, I doubt he'll ever be as tame as, say, Dasher

Re: 31 Days Of May
Wonderful photos of Thistle! Also I love her name, I briefly wished Artie was a girl so I could call him Thistle. Hehe. Interestingly Artie also goes berserk over mealworms. The only thing he will eat outside of his cage are mealworms and sunflower seeds. Mmm. Thistle is gorgeous and I do love her change of tune after she realises you have her favourite!!!
