Another hamster author we know?!
I found this on ebay today and was immediately struck by the second author's name - it's David of Tristar!!!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=025
I couldn't resist and bought it - I'll let you all know what it's like when it gets here. I've got the original Right Way To Keep Hamsters and Other Rodents which I read when I was about 10 and desperate to have a hamster but not allowed. Needless to say David Baglin isn't an author of that one :P
It is him, isn't it? I must ask him at the next show if we now have another published hamster exhibitor

It certainly sounds like him Holly and I am sure he will enlighten you at the next show. Let us know what you think of the book.

I definitely will review it - as well as asking him to sign my copy (if it's here on time) on Saturday (if he's there, I've a feeling Jean said it would just be her at Topcliffe).
Looking at the contents page it looks like a good book

My book came today and, after a quick flick through, I'm sure it's him!
There's a long chapter on showing and loads on colour breeding etc - my first impressions are that it's brill

Yes, it is our David! It was written many, many years ago though!
The co-author Roy Robinson was also very active in the fancy and a keen exhibitor but sadly is no longer with us.

Do you think it's worth having Julie? If so then I'll order one for my birthday (if/when I can find another one)!

I wonder if he'd sign it for me if I brought it to a show? :P
Mollz, it's really good. I haven't read all of it yet but there are some really good sections - including one about choosing hamsters with show potential from breeder's litters> I'm really impressed.
