Hamilton the Diligent Eater

Out of my seven hamsters, Hamilton never ceases to amaze me with his quirks. He really is a funny character, from playful to serious, from relaxed to squinty-eyed boxing wild animal

Anyway, one of his neat peculiarities is that if you give him something to nibble on, he'll sit there and nibble... and nibble... ...and nibble.

I've got a video of him eating a Hazel Hamster pellet for a good long while, which I gave to him as a "treat" and he just sat there and ate it in full earnest until he was done.

So today I saw Ham sitting at the entrance of his house and nibbling on a pellet. I mentioned it to my OH ("Hey, Ham is out and is munching on something.") 10 minutes later, I came back to the bedroom and found Hamilton in the same exact spot, still eating the same pellet. So here he is in his full earnestly diligent glory, eating that pellet like there's no tomorrow

Ah now Whizzbit does this, but I've always put it down to him only having the one functioning pouch, and therefore not wishing to be lopsided. Aw Hamilton you beautiful fluff, you know I love you

That is so sweet!!
I think it shows real patience as Wispa won't even bother with a monkeynut unless I pretty much get it out for her!
My Galaxy is a bit like it though, she will sit at her food bowl for a good 45 minutes but never stores any of her food.
