Exclamation Male Dwarf Behaving differently!?

hello everyone thanks for taking your time to read this
my 3 month old winter white dwarf hamster is usually very active and runs on his wheel at night and would usually crawl on my hand when i go to pick him up, wanting to be held. but recently hes not being himself. hes just about reached sexual maturity/puberty and i have noticed his scent glands now. also whenever i see him, he has food in his cheeks, its like he never empties them. he usually loves sleeping in his house but now he just sleeps in random places around the cage, with no bedding. he is eating and drinking normally, but iv noticed his feces (poo) has appeared to have a slight green tinge to it and his urine having a stronger smell than usual. despite he used to enjoy and feel comfortable being handles, when ever i place my hand in his cage, he gets defensive and bites me. he wont let me stroke him without turning around in quite a vicious way. i have also seen him roll around in his sawdust like a dog which i never saw my previous hamsters do. he is washing himself a lot and seems to be itchy but i but some tea tree skin cream on that i got from the pet store but still no improvement. please help. possible symptoms of an illness? i love him so much thankyou.

If in doubt I'd see a vet. I'm afraid I have no idea what could be causing symptoms like those, but any big changes in behaviour are often signs a vet is needed and the change in urine and faeces could be something the vet needs to know about.

I hope its nothing, but I'd see a vet to be sure.

Best of luck and I hope he's all ok

I would say everything but the poo and the excessive itching could be put down to puberty, I would have him checked over as the itching could indicate his mites have activated, which in turn can be a sign he is not well in some way. Don't panic though, he could just as easily be completely fine, it's just better to be safe
