Default Finally named him. Taming progress.

Hey,

We finally settled on Arnold. Boyfriends choice not mine lol

Due to my dad passing away and me having to travel back up north taming wasn't so great as it could have been but we did do some and I can pick him up, run him through my hands, etc etc. he has never bitten me once, he is one of the nicest hamsters I've ever had.

Now I'm worried though due to tha lump I found coming out of what I think is his anus. Waiting on some responses here before taking him to the vets.

Kind regards,
Erica.

He could pf had a bowel prolapse? This is when the walls of the recum pop put of the anus, this could be due to Arnold straining when he's trying for a poo,is it possible he could be constipated? What foods do you feed him on? Have you checked his cage for poos? Maybe if there's not many there he could be abit constipated? Is he well other than this lump you've found?
Giving him a little fresh fruit and veg can help with his constipation (if it is that)

Or it could be his man bits, they do stick out quite far.can you tell us anything else about them? Xx

Hi, I think it might be his man bits as when I went to examine him closer the lump thing had gone and he looked normal down there again. I cleaned his cage yesterday and there were lots of pops as normal. I give him a bit of cucumber every now and then. Should I give more regularly?

When I first saw Tinkers man bits I thought OMG!!! They are MAHOOSIVE
If he's pooping as normal then it's probably unlikely he is constipated. It's up to you how much cucumber you give him,I tend to give mine fruit and veg 2-3 times a week I gradually gave it to them and in small quantities as it can give them the runs (never happened with any of mine) I tend to give Hammy more fruit and veg and softer foods as he struggles with the hard stuff xxx
