It does look like a Chinese domi spot.
If she is offering the cage with the hamsters I'd take it Onion and bin it! At least then you know no other hamster will be put in there and you could actually start the move using that cage inside the bin or at least bits of it to transfer scent and make the move easier and less stressful.
On moving their territorial instincts may well kick in so you need to prepare to separate them. Have a spare bin or cage at the ready.
Good luck.

Thanks souffle, I found out tonight that she's only young and its her dad who phoned me to organise stuff so hopefully they bring the cage. Not sure my OH is going to be happy but I can't leave them like that :/

I agree with souffle on using some of the existing pods from the Rotastak inside any new set up just to help keep their scent around and make the move less stressful. You can take them away a bit at a time once the hamsters have settled after a week or two. Sounds as though they have been bought as a childs pet and the usual boredom has set in...

When will people wake up. Let us know when they finally arrive Onion?

I will, busy setting up today and worrying as I usually do! I think everything will be fine, and if they do fight due to the move I have spare cages ready.

They should be okay Onion. I would make their move as gentle as possible and leave them to settle. Chinese hamsters are wonderful, although I`ve never kept a pair together so it will be interesting to hear how your two fare. Get as much info on them from the father as you can. Where they were originally from, what are their ages etc...

Chinese are diabetes prone as you probably know, so they are best kept on a grain and seed mix (no sugars at all). I fed Burgess Supahamster Harvest to my female and removed the large peanuts, banana pieces, and all yellow corn/flaked maize. Replace these with millet/canary mix/porridge oats/Buckwheat and millet sprays cut into small pieces as a treat.

All available from Tesco and pet shops.

I do have a chinese girl at the moment, but I've never owned a male. As far as I know they are 11 months old. I will be quizzing the dad when he gets here XD
