My Nugget was nervous and always used to screech whenever I came near, but after I sat and spoke to her on many occasions, rubbed my hands into the substrate and offered her my hand to sniff, she started to come out of her shell and is truly a lovely, snuggable hamster now.
I hope he begins to come out of his shell very soon for you. After all it's only been a couple of days since he's joined you so hopefully you will see some more curiosity in the next couple of days

Thank you! He's came out of his shell even more this evening. He's been running on his wheel so I took the lid off his cage and sat by him talking to him. I kept putting my hand by him so when he stopped he'd keep sniffing it and eventually he noticed the roof was off and began opening up- climbing out the cage and into my hands. Gotta say, he's guna be trouble! He's so fast and jumps around a lot, ha. But I'm so happy he's no longer throwing himself on his back!
Here he is, finally on my knee!

Apparently he is between 8-10 weeks! And thank you, it's going to be interesting to see if any of his markings change much as he grows up! Olive would sprout blonde every so often in random places!

awwwww he is adorable and though he is shy, the fact he came on your knee is a great sign :0)
he looks like he is gonna be naughty, you can see it in the eyes lol ;0) xxx
