Re: Eating off my hand, woo! :D
Yes. I have to say, it's hard to not get scared about the future. I had my last two hamsters when I was about 10, and I remember them well and I remember spending time with them as well and enjoying them a lot. But I don't think I really had the emotionally development to form a proper bond with them in the same way that I can tell I am already forming one with Artie.
Hey ho, I will give Artie the best life possible and enjoy every moment of it.

Aww thank you!
I've been trying to figure out Artie's colour. Any ideas? He's almost certainly a hybrid. I was wondering whether he would change colour at all with the warmer weather. I'm kind of hoping not because his colour is gorgeous!
You also have stunning hamsters. I was just watching your video of Lucy and I just think you are amazing that you have managed to achieve such a great difference to her life and kept her going through her chronic kidney disease. I was curious as to what sort of dietary changes you had made - low salt, low phosphate, high calcium??? Or? Not that I want you to give up well researched secrets!
Lydia and Artie.

Aww!! Lydia thats amazing Im so pleased for you! What Pompoms said is totally true, its these little steps that build up a strong bond. Try not to worry about the future, just enjoy all the special moments that you share, and I promise that they will get more and more frequent now! The first steps are the hardest I always find. Give him a mealworm from me for being such a good boy!

Artie is so so special to me already, it's crazy. He's all I'm currently talking about, haha.
I'm having to resist posting a new thread daily with pictures of him in.
He had a mealworm from you... and from me! Awwww he chases them across the cage to get them (they're dried, but I move them away from him with my hand; it's a crafty way to get him out of his nest). I feel like I introduced him to chocolate for the first time.
