Has anyone used this company?
Hello all,
I want to buy a Zoo Zone 2 (or small animal cage) and the cheapest price is on PetPlanet, which I know other members have used with few complaints. However, I have spoke to them this morning and there is a two week delivery time on this item, as they don't hold any in stock.
The other cheap place is this one.
Small Animal
Has anyone ever used them? (I saw on one post that someone had used one comapny which seemed too good to be true, and found she was being charged repeatedly for the same item.)
Thanks.
Tracy

Re: Has anyone used this company?
Where are you from? I can't say about the website, but I got my ZZ2 for a really good price from a place called Jollyes (spelt like that - I had never heard of it before). It's a pet food supermarket or something like that. Might be worth seeing if you have a local one? Otherwise I hope this website is legitimate or that someone else has other bright ideas!
Lydia, and Artie, who is very happy in his ZZ2!

Hi Lydia,
Thank you for responding.
I'm in North London. I'll try out an internet search for Jollys.
By the way, what wheel do you use? I am hoping to get a Karlie Wonderwheel, in the hope that it really is silent.
And how did you get the top meshed?

No, Jollys no longer sell them.

Re: Has anyone used this company?
Hi, I called my local branch in Enfield and they said they no longer sell them, or any tank type cage, and haven't for a while. He might be wrong of course (he could have been the cleaner who picked up the phone in passing for all I know!).
Re PetPlanet, I can actually wait for 2 weeks, but if when it arrives it's broken etc, then that will be a problem.
Do you mind me asking how much you paid in Jolley's?

Re: Has anyone used this company?
Bear in mind that all my knowledge comes from less than two weeks of extensive reading of this site.
What type of hamster do you have? That will affect the size of the wheel. I have a dwarf and bought a 6.5" silent spinner. It is VERY quiet, although I don't keep him in my bedroom so it's not much of a problem. With a Syrian you would need a bigger wheel as their backs cannot be bent whilst they run. I think the KW wheels are silent but aren't they also made of wood? Something to consider if you have a chewer or if your darling likes to pee and poop whilst they run - plastic might be better in that case. A lot of people on here swear by silent spinners but they also swear by other types.
I haven't meshed the top of my cage but I don't have a Syrian who seem to be escape artists and I have nothing high enough for him to reach the top of the cage. I have seen some posts about meshing the tops and if you look in the housing section there is a thread on everyone's cages, which might give you some ideas! Sorry I am responding from my phone or I would try tracking things down for you.

Re: Has anyone used this company?
I paid £40 although they had it quoted as £46.99. I'm not sure whether he put it through the till wrong but I didn't dare say anything (naughty of me, usually I would say but I was already wincing a bit even though £46.99 is a really good price!)
It would be a real pain if the cage arrived broken! How much are they charging? There's a bargain cage thread in the housing section and someone might have spotted one? They're really big cages and I would be nervous about getting a second hand one.
Lydia and Artie.

Re: Has anyone used this company?
It might be worthwhile waiting until this evening to see if anyone else responds. This place becomes quite active when people get home from work, and I can't say anyone will know/respond but they might say that other website is good. Have you tried doing a search for the name of it on this forum?
