yup happens to us all hun, i fell the last 3 stairs with bear in a tub, dislocated my toe trying to catch him mid air. And one of the ratties fell off the sofa last night.

i think it scares us more and you would be able to see if he was hurt. have a cuppa and breathe! xxx

I am sure he is fine - Angel is always hurling herself off things, yesterday she jumped off the arm of the sofa onto a wood floor and casually wondered off. I usually catch her but this time I was too slow.

She is too brave for her own good.

I don't think that is really anything to worry about. Soon after I adopted Holly he leapt out of my hands just as I was putting him back in his cage on a shelf around 5 feet from the floor. He fell around 5 feet on to a solid wood floor! He just made a litttle sort of "oof" noise like an escaping balloon! I was so worried in case he might have broken a leg or something but he was fine.

Dont worry it's happened twice here, mum fell and dropped Sassy the other day, and she was fine, I've just had an incident with Sherlock, he jumped out of my hand into his play bin, he shocked himself abit...but he soon came round with a sunflower seed.xxx

Ugh I hate when that happens! Happened to me three times (twice with Lucy, as she's a crazy escape artist) and once with Viola when she was a baby and went flying-out-of-my-hand mad. I nearly had a heart attack each time and then had visions of hamsters with broken backs for the rest of the day. But it passes. As long as all is well, it just makes us more careful (and paranoid, haha).

I find hams like children completely go floppy and relax when they fall which causes a lot less injuries that us adults who stiffen up and try and flip ourselves about before we hit the floor.

I don't think there is a pompom here who hasn't gone of the sofa either by leaning a little too far, miscalculating the edge, or being knocked off by their cage mate, and that's with us doing our best to keep them on at all times!

You're okay hun. When I first got my hams they jumped off of my desk.. and its about two feet off the ground. I've learned to keep an eye on them

Glad I'm not the only one

Well he's 100% healthy from what I can see so I'm relieved.
