Thankfully I think fur is far less socially acceptable than it was even 20 years ago. I did read an article in some newspaper recently written by someone who says she wears fur coats "but only vintage ones so no animals have to die for them"....*sigh*

I don't think I'll be happy until they are as unacceptable as paedophiles (which they are to me). Incidentally I think that coat is horrid to look at and I've never seen a fur coat I've liked the look of but (just to lighten the atmosphere a little!) I did wear a 1970's fake one once for a fancy dress party when I went (with Starskey and Hutch!) as a prostitute

You know i almost thought for a minute that i had read it wrong and couldnt imagine anyone thinking of doing that let alone doing it as a hobby! Its horrible, doesnt matter if they were already dead, the thought of it is turning my stomach.

sorry, just to make it clear, I don't wear fur and don't condone anything about the fur industry. I was basically trying to say (unsuccessfully perhaps) what Souffle said so much better!

I also wasn't suggesting that I would stuff Peanut either apart from with lots of good healthy food to keep him with us for as long as possible.

And Julie - I bet you made a wonderful prostitute! In the nicest possible sense of course - I bet you had a great party! i must go to more innocent fancy dress parties - the last one I went to I went as Louby Lou and my 6ft 4 ex-hubby went as Andy-Pandy!
