What props / accessories should I get for my 7 month syrian?

Anything else I need? Please say I am thinking about getting a hammock?

It was only 5 minutes, sometimes getting an answer can take a while.
Egg boxes and cardboard boxes with holes cut in tend to go down well, Making a sand digging area (childs play sand baked in the oven until dry in a box, some people use the plastic take away dishes) or cork tunnels and pieces tend to go down well.

It depends upon the cage size as to what will fit in, but I always think the most important thing is an 8-11" wheel, and deep bedding will probably get more enjoyment than the shop brought toys.

you seem to have all the basics covered, just be sure the new wheel you get is at least 8"

other than that just get whatever toys you think he/she will like, hammocks are good if your hamster doesn't have a chewing habit, if they do they could ingest cotton fibres with could be lethal. My syrians loved things to climb like this

Hi, welcome to the forum.

You mentioned a water bowl. A bottle might be a good idea, as water could easily be spilled from a bowl.

The hammock would be good. You can also get other toys, such as crinkly tunnels or tunnels made of cardboard tubing. Other forum members have also used egg boxes with holes cut in them or empty cardboard boxes.

There are some threads on here that describe how to make home-made toys.

I hope this gives you some ideas.

ohh I didn't notice the water bowl, well spotted starbug

yeah a water bottle is better than a bowl, the few times I've had to use a bowl (when a bottle broke and I was in between replacing it) the hams tend to kick sawdust into it overnight and they're left without water
