Saw the cutest hamsters!

So I went to the pet store the other day, it's been a while since I was in there (I try to avoid going in because I'm always so tempted to get another hamster) and they had lots of hamsters this time.

There was a blackish/grey one that was super alert and ran right over to me and stared at me for a while as I talked to it (I have a video actually) and there was a white one who was super cute as well, he was white with black eyes which I've never seen before. Usually when I see white hamsters they have red eyes and are albino.

Let me know if you wanna see the video. HOWEVER I will warn you, I was kind of annoyed because the pet store doesn't care about gender at all. They keep males and females together and there was A LOT of hamster 'action' going on. I felt bad for the next people who come in and buy a hamster, not knowing that it's probably pregnant now..

I was tempted to say something, or even offer to sex the hamsters so they could separate them, because Syrian hamsters are really easy to sex imo. But it's really no use, I doubt they cared and would have just looked at me funny.

Be brave, and also I would contact your local council to inform them, with my council there are rules in place on the selling of livestock, something tells me that is one of their rules.
Silly me didn't realise you're in Canada, but I'm sure you guys have local governments too?

I think a forum member called 'Mona's Humans' has one of them and one of my 'youtube' friends has one called Tiger, which sadly has cancer

Yup, Mona's_Humans has Sgt. Pepper and he's a white syrian with black eyes.

here he is (sorry to invade the thread) he is a patterned ham (don't know what pattern) as his dominant colour and his pattern are both white

It's funny seeing US pet shops, there seems to be a lot more on offer in yours than there is in ours.

I think some places just see them as stock, not living things, so they dont care if they get sick or pregmant, i think this is why i have always picked males without thinking, one, they are prettyer with lh's, two, girls are risky

saying that i have 3 girls atm XD i can go in pet shops and ignore them, unless i have empty cages... 2 empty barneys and a fantasy free.. dont tempt me!
