Re: How long do they live?
Thanks for your contributions! Just a note, please could you say if your female has ever had a litter as well, as this helps when comparing results.

Re: How long do they live?
It may not seem like a long time in human terms but in hamster terms as they have a fast and high impact little life its some considerable time. I'm not sure whether there is a comparison of hamster years to human years, as they do for dogs.

"Hamster ages: Every human year is 25 hamster years, every 2 human weeks is 1 hamster year. Every human hour is a hamster day."

Re: How long do they live?
Tinkerbell - Female Syrian rescue. Never bred from. Died at roughly 2 1/2 years of old age. (A stroke was her final illness we feel but she died within hours of it happening)
Harry - Winter White rescue. He definitely fathered at least a couple of litters in his previous home. Died suddenly and inexplicably at about 18 months old. No signs of illness; we just found him in his cage curled up with his eyes shut forever.

Freddy- Girl 3yrs 2months- Old Age
Tango- Girl 9months- twisted gut
It looks like the boys live longer on average, but Freddy was a female and she lived quite long.
