Well, not all the time, but I did yesterday. I'd headed to P@H to stock up on all my stuff for over Christmas, there was a woman buying a baby Syrian just like George and setting up home for him ready for her daughter for Christmas.
She did I found out have a good size cage, wheel ect, and already set up home for the little one to settle in, and was planning to leave him peacefully ect . All she had from P@H was the hamster, some food, and EVIL FLUFFY BEDDING!!!!!!! I saw the member of staff recommend it to her, and say that as long as it wasn't cotton wool from Boots it was fine, and that they don't like paper bedding. I thought if I don't say anything I will feel like there is every chance I know I'm sending that baby to it's death, but I felt there was no need to make a massive scene in the store as given that I wrote to them after my Jam almost died from their fluffy bedding, and they were still selling it.
Sooooooo I lurked in the car park waiting for to come out, the member of staff came out with her, so I hung round trying not to look suspicious waiting for her to leave. When she did I ran over and knocked on the window hoping the woman would be receptive.
Thankfully she was, I told her what had happened to Jam, I told her about the blockages and the broken limbs, I told her Rotastack had written to me saying they sell many many bags, and that fatalities and injuries are rare (!!!!!), I told her about the RSPCA's stance. She was suitable horrified.
Unfortuntaley there has been a shortage of the large normal bedding bags at the P@H in my area, so I had bought seven mini bags to see us through Christmas. I'm glad I did now as i gave her one of my bags, she wanted to give me some money for it but I said I would rather just give her a bag as thanks for listening and really taking the health and safety of her hamster seriously knowing the little one wasn't going to suffer. She could also keep the bag afterwards so she's know what to get.
