Hi guys.. So picture the scene.. you're in the pet store looking for anything new when something catches your eye.. There is a tank of baby syrian males and they are all brown and very very small ... then a whopper of a hamster steps out of the tunnel and he's much bigger than the others and long haired and looks very out of place..

Me.." excuse me? can I ask a question about the hamsters please?"
Old shop owner " aye.. which one?"
Me..." that huge one! is he from a different litter or something"
Old man " cough! um no I don't think so.. he just eats more than the others"
Me " ok.. could you do me a favour?"
Old man " aye"
Me " can you keep him behind the counter for me till I get some cash?"

The old shopowner opens the tank and very roughly pushes the others out of the way... I'm quite a shy person but I stopped his hand and said.. I will pick him up if you don't mind..
I put my hand in and gently picked up the chubby syrian, who very calmly let me pick him up.. no sign of any fear..

He's 8 weeks old and I've no idea if this is accurate as he was twice the size of the others. He's very tame and been cuddling with us most of the afternoon..If anyone can tell me his colouring that would be fab too.. is he sable?

parsley is perfect, he def needs a P name. it also sounds like he's leftover from another litter, ive seen this before at petstores. good you got him, im sure pickle and peanut will love the new friend

aww what a cutie! He looks very inquisitive and has the cutest look on his face!
I'm sure he is very happy in his new home + it's great when hamsters are naturally tame isn't it!?
