Re: Ham-sitting! (lots of hams with lots of photos)
The 5.5" silent wheels Gizmodo mentioned are super quiet. I had a couple of those. Unfortunately one was cracked during shipping, and I gifted the other to a friend's robos.
This exact model:
Hamster Silent Wheel | eBay
They are quieter than Silent Spinners because they are lighter, and the rotation is a lot less wobbly and grindy.

Re: Ham-sitting! (lots of hams with lots of photos)
oo thats great!!! are they sturdy on that stand? i have a 'cyber wheel' that is not going to be needed soon, so it may get moved onto its 3rd hamster hehe (shard upgraded to a karlie, sko is having a wodent wheel) it has a rumble to it, but no squeaks or rubs, i do like the look of the wheel you linked, i saw it before where you can pic the colours, you are tempting me now XD

Re: Ham-sitting! (lots of hams with lots of photos)
Yes, they are sturdy. I can make some photos of them if you wish. I have both, as I'm hamsitting the hams who have it. I'm considering trading it back for one of my rollies The normal silent spinner stands actually fit it too, but I donated my 6.5" spinners, so I no longer have the stands from them. I only swapped them for looks--the green stands that these came with actually allow for height adjustment.
This was Leela when she used it:

Re: Ham-sitting! (lots of hams with lots of photos)
I've only had girls, so I can't comment. However, I've asked that same question two other people who've owned both, and there doesn't seem to be a difference. Boys tend to be bigger in size, if you care for that sort of thing, though unless you know the parents, they might be small boys or oversized girls. My Dora is very friendly and "handleable" now, and so is my friend's big robo boy (photo on the first page).

Not many photos today, mostly a cage cleaning day and other chores, but here are a couple:
Mom vs. baby:
Girls got a wheel for a bit today (under observation), and boy were they happy! I was playing a goal keeper, redirecting the new babies
