Ah, I think in your case you might just be sensitive to smells in general (though that bad batch of Carefresh was really horrible). I used to collect perfumes and went to various expensive perfume counters regularly to check on new stuff and sample things I hadn't yet, and eventually I became hypersensitive to various notes. I started smelling undesirable notes in almost everything, which made me nauseated and gave me headaches, so I stopped wearing perfumes for almost 2 years! After that long break, I've gradually come around to wearing them again, though not as much. My mom is prone to very bad migraines and can't wear any perfumes at all.

I am a carefresh fanatic I love stocking up on it, usually have 1-2 bags in my room, and more in my car

My OH is extremely sensitive to smells, but neither of us have noticed the strange sweet smell others report on here.

I actually prefer the colored carefresh because it's softer for my robos to make their nests with, but I buy both the natural and the colored. My only issue with the natural is sometimes I find it has little bits of wood in it, that can be up to an inch long and somewhat sharp. But I'm just careful to crumble the compressed bedding into the cage and remove these pieces of wood, because I'm afraid of my crazy robos flying out of their wheel and landing on one.

Im pretty sure I'm just VERY sensitive to that particular smell, I notice things from time to time have an oder that doesn't bother others but it does me.

MzWiz - I only noticed the smell with the natural. I use carefresh ultra (white) and I adore it. No smell. It is a bit dusty compared to the natural, but, thats only when I dump it into the cages, even my crazy diggers don't kick up dust.
