Forum language
The moderation team has noticed a lot of people are using bad language on the forum. We have had complaints.
This is a family forum with younger members and it is simply not acceptable. Even if you are used to hearing this sort of language, some people find it offensive and it will not be tolerated.
Today I have removed 3 lots of swearing. This is an offence that you can be given a warning for.
Please read through your posts and ensure they do not contain any words that others may find offensive and also ensure they are polite.
Do not name specific stores on the forum please. Any issues should be taken up with the manager and customer services of the store in question.
If we have any more swearing you will incur a warning without prior notice.
Thank you.

Re: Forum language
What do you actually class as swearing? There are the obvious few (which no one should ever use on a family forum) but then there are the "lesser" ones that some consider swearing and some don't, for example "bloody" (as in bloody hell).

Re: Forum language
Probably best to stick to diplomatically neutral language and get points across the way you'd talk to your grandmother (unless she's a rare case, sporting pink hair and a leather jacket )

Re: Forum language
I don't think it is necessary to use even 'bloody' on the forum myself.
I'm no prude but I am thinking of young people (and older people) and people from different cultures who may well have different values to ours. It isn't a great example to set really is it and most things can be said effectively without the use of such words.
If in doubt then just don't use it.

Re: Forum language
Erm would Flippin' we classed as a swearword?
only I use it quite a bit but if it's causing offence I'll stop right away.
I mean been a teenager there are plenty worse words I could use (but don't)

Re: Forum language
I don't think so emily but if you can find another word that would be understandable to members who do not have English as their first language it would be better.
