Dont like toilet roll for sleeping bedding!
I have been using toilet roll (asda cheap brand) for a week now for Honeydo
as sleeping bedding and i dont like it. I find that i spend ages shredding it and she just doesnt seem to be sleeping in it. I find it doesnt make good nests either. I much prefer the P@H shredded paper stuff and they have made the bags a bit bigger so with 4 hamsters it lasts around 1 month which isnt bad. Toilet roll maybe cheaper but i can tell she doesnt like it. So i have decided that i am going to use the toilet roll for the robos since they dont pouch it. And i am going to carry on using the P@H stuff since my syrians like to build nests with it

Whatevers best for the individual
Luna loves it and makes some pretty good nests out of it. Only takes me 30 seconds to shred it as well.

I'm the opposite, I don't like the P@H stuff as it's all stuck together and takes ages to pull apart. Whereas loo roll takes a few minutes to shred and they prefer it.

Re: Dont like toilet roll for sleeping bedding!
i do prefer morrisons cheap kitchen roll myself as it holds a nest better.toilet roll tends to go flat or just disappear for some reason lol!i shred my kitchen roll in the shredder and i get a huge shopping bag full of nesting material from one roll that lasts ages

Re: Dont like toilet roll for sleeping bedding!
I don't find it takes long at all to shred up some toilet paper, in fact every one of my 7 current cages gets atleast 5-6 sheets shredded up when I clean them, and I'll usually give some more later in the week since I never feel like they have enough lol. None of my guys (cambells and syrian) have trouble making nests with it, and most of my guys have moved to open nests now using the carefresh, the carefresh paper crinkles, and the shredded toilet paper and they are HUGE nests!

I found that the loo roll I was using made Ruby sneeze. I now use the rotastak paper stuff and shredded j cloth and Ruby likes that better and it is cheap so its all good!
