Question(s)
Okay, my friend says Petco is bad compared to Petsmart. I've been to both and I like both equally. Petco a little more though because it has male and female hamsters. Petsmart just has males. (Where I live..)
Anyway, what is so bad about Petco? She said they don't clean the cages or anything, but I think they really do and it's a very nice store. Which one do you guys like better?

Can't really help you as we are in the UK. You should judge the pet shop on the condition of the animals and how they are kept and the knowledge of the staff. Syrians should be kept in single sex groups up to about 6-8weeks and then singly. Do not buy from a mixed sex tank as you could get a pregnant female. Ask if the babies have been handled. Do not choose a pet from a tank where any look sick/ messy/ diarrhoea etc. If possible find a small hobby breeder who can advise you and provide a tamer, correctly sexed, healthy animal.

Okay. Maybe I can find one in my area. =p If not, then I'll make sure to ask those questions when I buy. ^^

I'm in the UK so not too helpful either, but I just wanted to say I don't think any chain pet stores are particulary great, I refuse to shop at Pets at Home etc. because I don't agree with the way they keep animals, where they're from, etc.

I have a Petco near me too and a Petsmart is alot further. So I go to Petco and I am satisified with them. Thing is, I don't know how often they clean the cages and etc. too
Here is something on Petsmart. Show this to your friend. I will not go there anymore.
