Default How do you catch a newbie hamster without startling her (out of cage time)

Hi guys

Ida my syrian is fine to get out of the cage because she just runs up the bars onto my hand but shes still a bit jumpy and did jump out of my hands onto my bed the other day.it was hard trying to catch her because shes so fast and it was hard to scoop her up without scaring her.so any ideas how to pick her up safely without scaring her when shes out of the cage free ranging?also do young syrians grow out of the jumpy stage or does it come with taming (shes 12-13 weeks)?

thanks x

Do you have a big jar or something you could encourage her into?
