Re: long haired syrian
If you stacked on top of a Mini Duna, air flow would be restricted yes. Long haired hamsters are lovely, but need an 8 inch wheel without a spindle, such as the Karlie Wonderland as their fur can become wrapped around the spindle, and leave bald spots. x

Re: long haired syrian
Since joining this forum I have quickly realised how adorable I think LH hams are! I think the only difference is you need to watch the bedding, as it can get stuck in their fluff. And you'd need a toothbrush to keep them from getting knotted.
I think you should get him... And your hubby could get another one The more the merrier!

Re: long haired syrian
lol i'm not sure there is space hence why i said about staking. i guess if the syrian had a barred cage i could put the duna on top.

Re: long haired syrian
Not that I can think of. Phoenix (Housemate's black LH) has a Karlie Wonderland as it's the best quality wheel you can get for them. You could get a barred cage and put the duna on top. Phoenix is a little hyper ball of fluff but he is so gentle. But you have to remember about grooming too, which is actually a lot of fun and means extra cuddles. XD

Re: long haired syrian
Actually just thought a Flying Saucer would probably work as well for a wheel for LH hammys! XD

Re: long haired syrian
Yeah, a 12inch flying saucer would be ok, but they take up a lot of space..
