I noticed on saturday night that Smokey's right eye was a little closed and looked watery, we thought he must have poked his eye on the substrate I had used because I had used wood chips and some bits of it where had bits of wood.
So I changed it back to megazorb on sunday but by monday his eye looked red and sore.
Mum took him to the vets this morning they said that he probably did poke it on the substrate. They decided to put him under anaesthetic to see if there was anything in his eye irratating him, Mum had to sign a form saying she knew he might not come out of the anaesthetic!
Luckily he did, we don't know if they found anything because mum didn't see the vet when she picked him up at lunchtime which is a bit anoying! But he has been given some eye drops called Tiacil that I have to put in his eye 4 times a day which is a bit of a challenge! I did the drops for the first time when I got home and his eye was completly shut and stuck together with puss and he hated it when I put the drops in, poor thing I hope he gets better soon!
Smokey had to go to the vets!
