Re: Names and Why
I forgot to mention that I also had a hamster that died a while ago.
Her name was Paxious, Pax meaning Light in latin.

Re: Names and Why
Frohike, Byers and Langley after "The Lone Gunmen" characters on The X-Files. Slightly unusual I know, but I loved the idea of having a little group of dwarfs taking on the world together (and solving government conspiracies!).

Re: Names and Why
Fudge= rescued and came with the name it suited him so we kept it
Blossom= rescued and came with the name she'd been found wandering around a garden so we thought we should keep it as it seemed appropriate!
Toffee= rescued came with the name sunny but my youngest daughter didn't like it and really wanted to call her toffee so we let her have her own way!!
Pebbles= my new hammy! cos the names fudge and toffee went together i thought i should pick something to do with nature (to match blossom) and thought pebbles sounded cute!
They're all syrians

Re: Names and Why
Foudoukis Pontikopoulos=foudouki means hazelnut in greek and I always wanted a hamster called that. Pontikopoulos, because he needed to have a surname (means son of mouse or little mouse).
Sauron Bilbobaggins= because he is black and I only thought of Darth Vader after I had already named him. Bilbobaggins because hamsters always remind me of hobbits. Or the otherway round, I don't know.
