Names and Why

[Pompompoms]

Mine are all Robos.

Jam (Agouti boy) - His favorite thing was to Jam himself into the smallest space he could possibly find. Nothing in his cage went uninvestigated!

The Cloud (White boy) - The first pic I took of him he was wheeling really fast, so fast that you couldn't see his feet or any of his features, just a white fluffy ball that looked just like a Cloud.

Bianca Nadya (Husky girl) The gorgeous mum to all the babies, sent from Tammy and named together. Her name translates as pure white hope, and she did indeed produce the pure white babies we hoped for

The babies are

Mini The Cloud (White boy) - He's just like his dad and has been from day one

Digger (White boy) - Well, he loves digging! particularly under things

Whizzbit (White boy) - Super fast ball of white lightning!

Dasher (Husky boy) - Loves to move about in quick dashes, also came out of the nest when the snow came and Christmas was coming so named after one of santa's reindeer.

Olive (Husky girl) - Got her tiny head stuck in the climbing frame when she was about 12 days old, and had to be rescued by rubbing olive oil round her neck and gently easing her out!

Pickle (Husky girl) - Cheeky little minxy! A really gorgeous little pickle

Little Peach (Husky girl) - Absolutely tiny for weeks, didn't grow at all compared to her siblings. Catching up now though, and named by my friends' 13 year old daughter.

Marmalade (Husky girl) - Also named by my friends' daughter. Named to remember uncle Jam.

Loon (White boy) - Not really into wheeling, loons at top speed in figures of eight instead!

Bobble (White boy) - Is often sat in Loon's path, and stays asleep but bobbles from side to side as he dashes past.

Free Willie - SH BE Cream Syrian - Named after the Orca movie.
Nibbles - LH Sable Syrian - Just thought the name was cute.
Bender - SH Black Syrian - Named after Bender the robot from Futurama.
Brokencyde - Black Campbells - Named after the screamo band.
Se7en - Black Campbells - Named after a member of Brokencyde.
Shippo - Blue Campbells - Named after the fox demon in Inuyasha.
Midna - SH Dominant Spot Syrian - Named after Midna from Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Buzz - LH Sable Banded Syrian - Just liked the name.
Tallinn - LH RE Dove Banded Syrian - Named after the place in Estonia.

[Pomegranate]

Pudding: It was a couple of weeks before Christmas, and I happen to think food names are adorable for animals (and as far as forcing an animal into something adorable, a name's fairly harmless ).
It makes a nice family pun too. "Can I have some pudding?" "No, she's asleep." (Yeah, I'm sad. )

Dumpling: Same reasons really. Food name = adorable, and a pun. I'm a simple creature.

I love all the names, but I love Knusper a lot. It's Knabbel in Dutch. I have them on my list of future hammy names, together with Nibble.

Buster, named by the kids worryingly after the crash test dummy from Mythbusters.

Holly because I adopted her at the end of last year and I brought her home on Christmas Eve.
