You have just made my night ...I, of course, think he's gorgeous but I didn't really think we had any hamsters suitable for entry in the *proper* classes (which is largely why I wanted to look at getting a show standard female). I'd love to enter him if you really think he's good enough but that means I need to get my act together regarding joining a club and advance entry and all that. It's a bit scarier than just turning up on the day with a hamster in his own cage for the pet class ...and I wouldn't want anyone to think me and Moxy are getting ideas above our station!

You all seem to have great routines, I'm abit unorganised I play with the piggies through the day and sometime in the evening I'll get Twinkle out and let her have a run around in her ball then play with her for about 10 minutes.

Thanks ...I have decided though that at Lymm we are going to enter the hammies just in the pet class and racing (Custard and maybe Treacle)...I just want to be sure that they'll all cope with the day and I think being in their own cages (or part of their own cages anyway) will be less unsettling for them for their first show. I can then be sure to get Mox in the right class if he is suitable to enter the show *proper* in future.

I suppose it's a bit easier with guinea pigs as they are awake during the day and you can let them out whenever you've a spare moment. I sometimes wish hammies were up and about during the day a bit - we try never to wake ours and to go by their body clocks but they don't always wake up when we'd like them to!
