I use bowl for my girls. The bowl is big enough for both of them to come in. But even they have a food bowl they still scatter all their food everywhere. They so cute when I took the bowl out to refill, once I put it in back to the cage, they all run to the bowl right away and munch and store in their cheek pouch. Too bad they don't really like fresh food or any treats I bought for them they quite odd.

Do Both most in the food bowl but the hammys fav food should be hidden under the bedding to make him dig to get food just like they would do in the wild

I use a bowl so i can see how much he's eaten or taken away, for some reason he always leaves the little grey and orange triangle shaped things, oh if you use a bowl, how often do people fill it? Because i give him a tablespoon every night so i know how much im adding each day, or is it better to give it all at once, and let him pick at it over the week or something?

With Cookie I gave her a bowl just 'cause she seemed to like it better. With Bickie I scattered 'cause he liked to dig around for his favourite bits. And Kitty had a bowl 'cause she wouldn't touch anything that was on the floor! With my current four RD's I scatter 'cause they love to dig around anyway and it seems fun to them. So for me it's always been what the hammie likes to do best, dig around or just plonk their bums in the bowl and eat at leasure!

To be honest I have started scattering but am tempted to go back to bowels because they are getting pudgy and lazy I think sherbert has stopped using her wheel except to sit and munch on food

I do a similar thing to you. I feed 2 teaspoons each to my 2 male robos and the females get 6 teaspoon as they are also nursing and the older pups need alot of food to fatten up.
