Default Rodipet® Organic Syrian Hamster Food ''VARiETY''

I recently just discovered the "Rodipet® Organic Syrian Hamster Food ''VARiETY" while browsing over the Rodipet Website, it has identical GA levels to the Rodipet Organic Syrian Hamster food Junior however the ingredients are completely different.
Which do you think is better?

I can’t see it on the U.K. website. Do you have a link?

I think they both look nice and it's hard to choose between them. Individual hamsters might prefer one over the other, or you could switch between them.

I think I feel slightly biased towards the Variety one because I love the photo of the hamster on the tub!

The variety is a new range they just brought out, but if you look it says it can be used as a supplement to the senior or junior food

'This mixture serves as a variety to the Goldhamster or Teddyhamster Junior & Senior food. We recommend a portion of "Variety" every third day instead of the "Junior" or "Senior" main food.'

Yes, but could it be fed as a sole diet? The ingredients are completely different, E.G: The removal of numerous vegetables such as carrot.

I'm guessing not as they are selling it as a 'supplement' to their other foods.
If you want to know for sure maybe you could email them?

Could be a marketing ploy. Rodipet trying to convince people that they need to buy BOTH hamster mixes.

A quality hamster mix should be a complete and balanced mix in my opinion.

I think it is a bit of a marketing ploy. They can sell two hamster foods at a time now instead of one!

Judging by the nutritional analysis, the ingredients and the fact that they recommend feeding it as 30% of the diet, I think it's highly likely to be balanced on its own (plus insects/animal protein) but I suppose it's at your own risk since they don't specifically endorse it as the main food.

I think the idea is to add variety every 2 or 3 days with things like flowers and different tastes. But to give it all the time might not give enough nutrients. I have rarely seen a hamster actually eat dried flowers! So it does suggest it's not for full time use (because hamsters will probably be too selective with it).

As Luna says, on the page it suggests giving this one every second or third day instead of the regular mix. At least the regular mix will go further so it's not like it's going to work out more expensive really.
