Peanuts in Shell for Dwarf Hamster?
Hi... I have a dwarf hamster, in size a large Robo or a small Russian. He doesn't seem to be doing much chewing--no signs on his hide, his cardboard, his wood block, and 2 other chew toys. I'm thinking about offering him a peanut in the shell. I have some "human" peanuts; they're salted but not extremely so.
Any experiences with this?

Don't give your hamster salted peanuts. The plain, unprocessed peanuts in their shell are fine. Does he have a Whimzee dog chew like the xs toothbrush? Most hamsters love those.

Okay thanks. More for me.
I picked up the Whimzees idea on here and gave him a 1-inch piece and come to think of it, I haven't seen it lately. Maybe it's down in his burrow being chewed and it's time to give him more. Do you think the toothbrush is better than the other forms?

No, it doesn't matter which shape or colour. I just find that the toothbrush is the ideal size. They often carry them to their nest or hide.
